Claire and Rob - Bowden Hall, Gloucestershire

Bowden Hall was a new venue for both of us, and a stunning one too! As you come up the driveway, Bowden Hall looks over a gorgeous lake and forest area, but the building itself is also one not to be missed. 

We’d met up with Claire and Rob a fair few times before the big day in September, so we were looking forward to celebrating with them, as well as (of course) capturing their wedding day. We started the day by visiting Claire in the bridal suite and spending some time with her and her bridal party as they began their preparations with hair and make-up. Claire’s dress was beautiful, and she even let me have a cheeky glass of Taittinger with them, what’s not to love?!

The morning seemed to wizz by and before you knew it, Rob and the Groomsmen had arrived, with the guests starting to follow. Nerves were starting to set in for Claire, but that all soon disappeared and turned to excitement once she met Rob at the end of the aisle.

Bowden Hall is perfect for a range of shots, the building is the perfect backdrop for some group shots, and the forestry made for some brilliant portraits of Claire and Rob. Unfortunately we had a spot of rain, but luckily, the bar inside is also a fabulous place to capture some more group shots and guest portraiture. 

The brief for Claire and Rob’s day was to take candid photos, show the story of the day and most importantly, show everyone having a good time! With the speech that was delivered by Rob’s Best Man, it was hard not to have a smile on your face. Even we struggled to take photos through the laughter. 

The day ended on a high, with the first dance to the popular song, ‘The Power of Love’, which certainly got everyone up onto the dance floor for the party to begin. We had a fabulous day, and hope to be back at Bowden Hall in the future for more weddings or events!
